NIHB-Covered Individual Therapy Available In-Person in Whitecourt, and Online Across Alberta

The wide-open beauty of Alberta — a reflection of openness and the vast landscapes within

If you’re an Indigenous individual living in Whitecourt, Woodlands County, or anywhere in Alberta, you can access free, confidential, one-on-one counselling through the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) Program.

I’m a registered psychologist and an NIHB-approved provider, offering individual therapy both in person (in Whitecourt) and online anywhere in Alberta.

Who Can Access

If you have a Status card, you automatically have coverage for NIHB mental health counselling.

  • In-person sessions: Available for clients within travel distance to Edmonton and Whitecourt, including Woodlands County, Blue Ridge, Fox Creek, Swan Hills, Mayerthorpe, Fort Assiniboine, Kinuso, and Slave Lake.

  • Online sessions: Available to Indigenous clients anywhere in Alberta with a Status card.

Why This Matters

Access to holistic and evidence-informed mental health care can be difficult in smaller or northern communities. With NIHB coverage, eligible clients can receive counselling at no cost, either online or locally near Whitecourt.

What I Offer

  • Individual therapy only — a space dedicated to your goals and experiences

  • A culturally respectful and trauma-informed approach

  • Flexible scheduling (morning, afternoon, evening, and select Saturdays)

  • In-person and virtual options to suit your location and comfort level

NIHB Coverage Details

If you are eligible for NIHB, you can access up to 22 sessions per year, with the option to extend as needed. I handle billing directly with NIHB - there’s no cost to you.
